Okay, I updated to Mail Avenger 0.7.1 (just released), and
incorporated most of your feedback.

I think naming it something other than smtp-filter would add a lot of
confusion.  Since smtp-filter just goes into the package-specific
/etc/avenger/ directory, I don't think this will cause that much
confusion.  (It might be bad if this went in /usr/local/bin/ or
something.)

I'm attaching a new tar file.

As a reminder, avenger requires its own uid.  The uid does not need to
be fixed at compile time, but this seems to be the way OpenBSD does
things, which is nice because it's simple.  Thus, as written the PLIST
also assumes you would add _avenger 554 to
/usr/ports/infrastructure/db/user.list.
