hi there, so, i have updated to a snapshot(aug 24) and i am playing with pkg_add -u/-r
kripel> pkg_add -u php4-core /usr/sbin/pkg_add should be run as root Updating gettext-0.10.40p3 -> gettext-0.10.40p3 Updating recode-3.6p2 -> recode-3.6p2 Updating libiconv-1.9.2p1 -> libiconv-1.9.2p1 Updating php4-core-4.3.11 -> php4-core-4.4.0 Update using pkg_add -r gettext-0.10.40p3 recode-3.6p2 libiconv-1.9.2p1 php4-core-4.4.0 -is it really necessary to be root for this (-u)? -the lines where the version number is the same, is the update needed because of the libc changes? could the actual reason be highlighted a bit more, so it's more cleaner at first glance? -if i update using the suggested command, what will happen to the other applications using the "old" gettext? -f -- i'm so broke i can't even pay attention.
