It's still unsolved here, because I didn't have the time to tweak
my configuration yet.
However, if I'm the *only* person with locking problems, I guess
it's just a PEBCAK.
It would by nice if that port could make it into 3.8. (And, yes: they
use mkstemp() since 1.1.24)
