Thank you very much for the quick reply, Dimitry! :)
This is an unfortunate measure that has to be taken by more and more sites, to prevent bad crawlers from eating all bandwidth and CPU. Read for instance:
Yep. the page also mentioned this. But just kept looping.
https://sourcehut.org/blog/2025-04-15-you-cannot-have-our-users-data/ As to your particular problem, I can only say that it works for me. The Anubis software tells your browser to calculate a bunch of hashes, then only lets you in once it has done enough "work". My suspicion is that your browser is refusing cookies, which is (as far as I understand) necessary for Anubis to work properly. Or you are using some other form of script/cookie blocking.
I don't arbitrarily eat cookies. Why should I? Unless it's a site that Ineed to store preferences and such. The page indicated that my browser performed
303 iterations and indicated success. But just continued to keep on looping. This is a failure on the part of the implementation. Success should mean success.
I am given no clue as to why I'm not directed to my intended page. IMHO from my experience here Anubis is a disservice. :( But with your informative reply, I now know that I'll need to accept cookies from cgit.freebsd.org. :) Thanks again, Dimitry. ---Chris
