Hi,

I'm currently working on a tool that relies on poppler for PDF data extraction.
Recently, we encountered a document that caused poppler to produce invalid
output and, in some cases, crash. I tracked the issue down to the decoding of a
jpg-2k image via openjpeg so I filed a bug with them
(http://code.google.com/p/openjpeg/issues/detail?id=211&sort=-id) and they've
already patched the code to address it so we're looking forward to an upcoming
release.

However, while investigating the issue, I noticed poppler has - or at some
point had - internal support for image decoding that is enabled when compiled
without openjpeg. I did run a test with poppler confugured in such a way and
the output was still incorrect so I was wondering if these files are legacy or
if there is interest in patching the code. I didn't want to bother with this if
you plan on removing these files in the near future.

Let me know and I can provide the details if needed.

Thank you,

-e
