I've sketched a patch to make FreeType2's internal blacklist visible and configurable from FT2 clients. https://www.codeblog.org/blog/mpsuzuki/20100825.html The patch is not for poppler, so I don't attach to this post. I will discuss about user-configurable blacklist in freetype-devel mailing list.
