I completely identify with you! I moved LMS to a RPi 3B+/Picore player
set up about 4 years ago and it was brilliant as a low power, always-on
system. I am no Linux programmer, but the tutorials are great etc. I
also kitted out a friend's place with a 3 x RPi system and she's been
really happy with it. BUT... I realised how much I missed
Spicefly/Music IP as a DSTM solution. The Spotty integration is
brilliant, but not a substitute (IMHO) for trawling through the
forgotten gems that I had actually purchased. When Win 11 came along,
with the hardware requirements etc, I reassessed my system. The
(massive) desktop PC was over 10 years old, a lot of the I/O had
disintegrated, it lacked the ability to move to win 11, and the Boom had
finally packed in. My solution was to buy an ASUS mini PC PN51,
upgraded to Win 11. This tiny box is fast, quiet and efficient - I am
very impressed with it. I have repurposed the RPi as a Boom replacement
(MUCH better sound quality!) and run LMS server off the win 11 device
with relatively low power consumption. Getting Music IP back + Spicefly
for me was worth every penny. The alternatives (as demonstrated in
previous posts) require a high level of Linux programming skills which
are way beyond me. Hope this helps somewhat
