Part of me isn't surprised to hear this after RedHat/IBM's corporate
push for systemd and spit in the face to POSIX interoperability.
Reminds me of Micro$oft's business tactics of Embrace Extend Extinguish.
For people seeking stability, maybe stay away from the Canonical as
well, who changed their INIT system twice in the same decade.
