I, on the other hand celebrate aligning APIs, interfaces, network protocols, hard drives, memories, etc.
It shows focus on customer/consumer rather than not invented here, we can do better sentiment. Obligatory car analogy - Imagine car companies not learning/copying each other and designing "better" APIs rather than focussing on better cars. What an awesome user adventure and customer lock-in scheme that could be. Especially combined with driver license and gas station only for particular car brand.
