The alpine mua does not have an out-of-office response, but I read on a web page that I can write a script to respond to incoming messages when I'm away from the office a few days and won't have access to my network.
Looking at the alpine wiki and other web pages I haven't found instructions on how to do this. I know there's at least one other alpine user on this maillist and ask for pointers, suggestions, and clue sticks on how to set up an automatic responder (which should piss off the spammers who get through as well as inform legitimate senders.)
