I have Slackware-current installed on an HP laptop. The default DE is KDE and I want to change that to Xfce as that's what I've used for 28 years.
Opening a 'konsole' (ctrl-alt-t) as root I entered the command, 'xwmconfig', and a dialog box opened with all available choices. Selecting xinit.xfce (the second option below kde) I clicked on the 'OK' button and the console bash prompt appeared, overwriting a portion of the GUI dialog box. Entering 'halt' shut down the computer. Re-starting it still brings up the KDE DE rather than Xfce. What am I missing here? TIA, Rich
