I recently installed Fedora on a fairly recent HP laptop (F9 boot order, F10 BIOS Setup). I got the HDD resized to give me enough space for the Linux install and live booted. After the install completed I rebooted, and the BIOS gave me a SBAT error. It turns out MS crafted a patch that messed up dual boot partitioned systems. Performing a web search I found a recipe that solved that, and blocked MS from breaking dual boot in the same way. The solution restored UEFI boot mode.
