Keith, Removed. > /home/YOURUSERNAE/.config/Skype No such directory in ~/.config. However, that did clear things up for one invocation. Skype started. Just to make sure, shut it down and tried again. Now it's telling us it does not recognize either the username or the password; doesn't specify which. Sigh.
