Who reads plug-talk? How many topics labeled not plug appropriate are there that the person who got the troll label was able to transfer to plug talk and see anything meaningful come of that? I have been told that I preached, that I offended the non religious people, that I'm foisting opinions on others trying to get a discussion going on how to secure a home based Internet filtering setup. Clearly, some people are so angry that they have to dig up seven year old posts and they think they can make a point with them (not that they hold grudges of course.)
I don't think anyone who is an atheist deserves a nobel peace prize and that includes Linus. I said it seven years ago and I am just as comfortable saying it today. Obama is a terrible president no matter what shoes he wears. The last two paragraphs aren't coming from nowhere by the way, the idea that Linus should get a nobel peace prize was promoted on this very list even though there is nothing technical about giving him such a thing. The Obama needs new shoes comment, whether plug or plug-talk is where this was said, the point to take away is how biased the discussion was. Taking the discussion of how can people work together to filter home based Internet access to plug-talk will effectively kill that discussion. I'm not sorry that I pushed the idea that people ought to help each other when it comes to filtering ones home based Internet access. I didn't go on a religious crusade like Keith might suggest nor did I preach. The technical side of how people can help each other filter home based Internet access is completely germane to this list and I expect people to thoughtfully consider telling me where I can get an 802.1x enabled network switch. Better yet, how do I set up the authentication on both sides of the link? _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
