I received notice via the orange gear icon that Ubuntu (8.04 hardy) has
updates for me to install. I told it to do so. It's a relatively long
update -- for me, anyway -- so I wasn't paying attention most of the
time. I decided to look back and see how it was doing and found a dialog
box with the following message:

----------------------------------------------------------------
Some of the packages could not be retrieved from the server(s).
Do you want to continue, ignoring these packages?

[No] [Yes]
----------------------------------------------------------------

That's not very informative. How would I know if I should continue or
not? All I can see in the update window is, in the upper half of the
window, a list of the last 5 packages(?): samba, samba-common,
smbclient, ttf-opensymbol, and winbind. Each of these has a filled in
blue square to the left if the package name. I recall that there were
packages for Open Office, too, but until I respond to the dialog box I
can't do anything with the update window. The lower half of the window
starts with

Version 3.0.28a-1ubuntu4.9 (or is it lubuntu?)

followed by some security update descriptions.

So, is the best answer yes, or no, and why?

Thanks.
