Y'all may want to become linguists and work on computer speech recognition and speech production. It is the connection between computers and linguistics.
It is a vastly complicated matter. You'd need a master's in functional linguistics coupled with a masters in computer science. It is a wide open field with lots of jobs and major bux. Entrance level salaries are typically well over $100K.
