I just want what worked in 22.04 to work in 24.04. Thankfully I made a
backup of the system just before I started the upgrade, so I was able to
go back to 22.04.

Might I ask why you're doing this and what you're doing where your
password is being asked for enough for it to be a problem? Unless I'm
