I wish I had a ham station to maintain myself. unfortunately, most of my ham gear was destroyed June 27th, 2023 in a house fire that spread from a neighbors back yard (where he was improperly charging 2 e-bike lithium batteries in direct sunlight). The insurance for the house has specifically excluded me from the policy for coverage, which means I am out both an HF, and VHF/UHF transceiver set, as well as a 3 KW antenna tuner, 4 tube Dentron Amplifier, braille sense U2 (replacement for this is $6k), a lot of clothing, 1 server donated by a plug member last year, 3 other computers (desktop type) and a laptop as well as many other items. I estimate all of it to be somewhere over $20k and more likely $25k just to replace it all. I was able to rescue my Mac mini before the fire spread and a couple of external drives and a small amount of misc hardware. However, if Darrel needs some help, I can think of a couple of guys on the 94 machine in the west valley that might be able to help.
