The language called English is only ambiguous to those who don't understand it
(or to those whom get to read something which was written poorly--either by
somebody who doesn't know better, or by somebody who doesn't try harder), and
to those who don't pay attention to what the are doing.
I confess to be somewhat of an editor--and therefore I made the mistake of
assuming that Ulrich meant "resent" and not "re-send" (which, since he
apparently isn't a native English speaker, he wouldn't know that it doesn't
have a past participle). For the record, "resent" in English _only_ means "to
feel indignantly aggrieved at" (verb, transitive). The construction "re-sent"
technically is not grammtically correct as a result of what should then become
relatively obvious reasoning. Also, "resend" is not a word in
English--although "re-send" is a legal construction. However, the construction
"had re-sent" is a legal construction, as it removes the ambiguity between the
compound word construction and the real word (the past participle of "resent"
is "resented").
I will quickly note that were it not for computers, I would attempt to make my
living as an editor.
