Sry for a late reply (sick and been sleeping) but the one Harald Sitter and I fiddled with during Akademy was kinda nice where it used a blurred version of your wallpaper.
1) It didn't reveal the nature of your wallpaper (we tested, extensively) 2) It creates the sensation of "fading to desktop" when unlocked. If it IS somehow a security issue I don't know but it was waaaaay cooler than having a random wallpaper set by default which made the login process from a lock screen feel jerky and out of phase.
