and unlike the knee-jerk “you’re ruining my workflow” reactions, these timeouts actually have a purpose. we will seriously annoy many of our office users if this goes away. i would say that at the very least, we need to retain the feature even if it is not configurable .. but we need to ensure 100% that this grace period only happens when the locking happens automatically, not when explicitly started (by the user or programatically via e.g. dbus) -- Aaron J.
