i don't know how long ago the RFC for this replacement deco went out, so 
perhaps this is not the case, but ... -> if you are not getting feedback from 
a11y/HIG, please don't let that hold up such changes. it's best to get that 
feedback, but if there is simply no feedback after a reasonable amount of time 
and a couple tries (2 times in 6 months is pretty forgiving, imho) then my vote 
would be to simply push forward and do your best.
