Well if that's a Wayland limitation/security feature as Martin
pointed out,
it will be similarly broken on all desktops, not just (and because
of) KDE.
not that is a big relief tough, if wayland will have enough
limitations to be
in fact useless, it just won't be adopted (by
desktops/distributions/users..)
I hope you realize that the discussion about screenshots is quite some
bikeshedding at the moment as
a) we are not yet on Wayland
b) we don't know how exactly that will look like
c) it's possible to define a standard way to make screenshots possible
All I wrote was that we have to consider security and the way we handle
things right now would break the security which is in principal added by
the windowing system. That is security currently not available in X11
and we never had to care about it.
Now we have the chance to make the system a little bit more secure. We
should at least try to make that possible and not kill that before we
even start with going to Wayland, can we?
Cheers
Martin
