while it would be nice to have the full "to the start of time" history for each component, i don't think we'd actually find use for it down the road, so it would be extra work for no real world benefit. being able to track the contributions for legal purposes for some future legal audit is the only thing i can think of as a realistic use for that history, but we'll still have the originating svn for that if needed. so imho: go the easy route. as for splitting it up now or later into kdeplasma-addons and extragear- plasma, i agree with defering that to later. let's just get this into git as- is first. thanks for looking into this. -- Aaron J.
