This would probably require a change in kwin to not start > the animation before the pixmap is present. to further confirm this, it happens also to the (un)minimize effect sometimes when you have a minimized task since a long time and keeping thumbnails of minimized windows is disabled in the settings (in this case before unminimizing you also see the tooltip thumbnail empty)
