this is very shell specific; so it doesn't belong in libplasma. which means it would end up in individual containments at worst, and a containment action plugin at best. (the latter is most likely, i think.) it would require the same amount of code of the other solution and would turn it into a 2-step process where the solution i suggested is a one step solution. i mentioned on irc earlier today that this same approach could be used to ship "pre-configured widget sets" that could be used to add complex arrangements of widgets. but that's also a different topic, sort of :) -- Aaron J.
