localization is not my speciality, but i believe this has to be the .mo file, not the .po file. it also needs to be named after the plugin itself, so e.g. if the X-KDE-PluginInfo-Name entry is "myplasmoid" then it should be /contents/locale/ru/LC_MESSAGES/myplasmoid.mo -- Aaron J.
