the timeline should be horizontal for sure, while the previewer pehaps vertical stacked under the file tree? not sure about making it an overlay: has it enough "value" to be always shown or can be usually hidden and shown only when needed? > Also, it seems like alot of stuff with PlasMate is currently 'hanging'.
