the task bar uses colors from the theme configuration. if the theme uses system colours, then the taskbar also uses system colours and the taskbar would need to have a suitably neutral/flexible background to match. if you need a special colour for the taskbar, then someone is doing something wrong ;) this is one of the reasons we provide colour schemes with themes and don't follow system colours in most plasma themes. -- Aaron J.
