yes, i don't think it's the CPU or RAM at all. it's likely to be the graphics 
drivers, as that's what has been the issue previously even on thick clients 
for people. we also have thin clients working just fine elsewhere, but using 
different drivers.

the issue is that plasma uses argb windows and some drivers, esp older ones, 
apparently relaly, really suck at handling that.
