hi all.. with an eye to making the libplasma core ready for the stability required by a kdelibs component, i eliminated the plasma-specific keys in DataEngine .desktop files.
they now use the standard KPluginInfo set: X-KDE-PluginInfo-Author= X-KDE-PluginInfo-Email= X-KDE-PluginInfo-Name= X-KDE-PluginInfo-Version= X-KDE-PluginInfo-Website= X-KDE-PluginInfo-Category= X-KDE-PluginInfo-Depends= we don't have defined Categories yet, and Depends doesn't do much atm either. but these should now be used in all engines. additionally, do not use the terms "Data Engine", "Engine" or "DataEngine" in the Name= key. i've update all the existing .desktop files in svn, but author/email/license/etc info has not been filled in for those .desktop files that were lacking these entries. -- Aaron J.
