that's an intentional feature for kickoff; having buttons that pop up menus on a desktop is .. well .. inane. i'd be fine with coming up with a generic mechanism for a user to "collapse" or "iconify" PopupApplets, but setting this inside the code such that the launcher is always a popup no matter where it is just won't fly. think about it: ctrl+f12, click to open, navigate, select something. the first two actions are redundant. as such, i'm not in favour of this patch; it's not something individual applets should be trying to decide for the user. -- Aaron J.
