Yes, we run canola full screen because we wanted something really different from maemo-look (little hack: if you run canola using the terminal with the "-n" option, it will run in windowed mode). Anyway, it should be very easy to run canola under this windowed mode and we just need to think a way of sharing this information about themes, etc...so canola can inherit themes from the system.
