Hi all,
Hope everything is going good. I am relatively new to package
here, mostly work over at documentation. I mostly package software for
Ubuntu, OpenSolaris doesn't support my wireless and sound devices
(yet) so I can't switch over but I would like to help out in some
package work. I see a lot of really useful packages like bazaar
haven't been ported to OpenSolaris, I would like to work on porting:
bazaar, maxima, and SAGE, also there's no maintainer for Django on the
wiki list, so can I help in maintaining that as well.

I have been working on this automated porting system for a while now,
see packaging in debian and opensolaris have lot of things in common,
in debian there's a directory called debian that holds the build
files, in opensolaris if i understand correctly you have to submit the
specf file (along with copyright and other stuff) which is basically
the rules file and others present in the debian directory so we could
possibly port those with ease, and I am trying to use an automated
procedure that can allow me to do that with only minor changes for the
user. What do you guys think about this? I would like to elaborate
more on this idea, if you guys like it :)

only want to use it. That is a tribute to how good Linux is.
