Package: evolution Version: 3.12.9~git20141130.241663-1+b1 Severity: important
Dear Maintainer, I filed a bug at Gnome Bugzilla concerning the problem I'm reporting here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=769549 However the bug was closed because the version of Evolution that I'm using, that is, the one shipped with Debian Jessie: 3.12.9, is considered obsolete. This is the report I filed: When an event's alarm is set one or plus days before the event and the computer happens to be off at the time when the alarm should have been triggered, that alarm is missed and never displayed. Steps to reproduce: 0. Let's say we are "today at 13:25" 1. Create an event to happen tomorrow at, say, 13:30 2. Add an alarm to display a reminder 1 day before the event 3. Close Evolution 4. Switch off the computer (before 13:30) 5. At 13:31 (or later) switch on the computer 6. Log in Result : no alarm is displayed, neither today, nor tomorrow. If you needed to prepare something for that event, you're in trouble. Expected behaviour : missed alarms, that is, alarms that should have appeared from the last time the computer was off to the moment the computer is switched on should appear. No matter whether they are 1 or 1000... At the very least, missed alarms for events in future should be displayed. Would it be possible to at leas have a newer version of Evolution (or GNOME if Evolution cannot be upgraded alone) at least in jessie-backports? If that's not feasible, any pointer to other possible routes, such as how to install a newer version of GNOME in Debian stable would be appreciated. Thank you!
