$atokens = explode(' ', $_REQUEST['name']);
$sql = null;
foreach ($atokens as $name)
$sql .= ($sql ? 'or ') . "name ilike '%$name%'";
$sql = 'select * from tablename where name ' . $sql;
this is for PostgreSQL; for MySQL replace "ilike '%$name%'" with
"INSTR(name,'$lname') > 0"
