Only way I can think of would be if the files were pre-zipped/stuffed/gzipped/etc, AND if you were able to decompress on the server, which would only be possible for some compression types. I'm thinking there MIGHT be some way with a hugely complex Java (not javascript) program, but I'm no expert.
