My guess is that you have a problem with the function itself, that's why I strongly suggest you define it as a standalone function and use "javascript:" for debugging; 3. No, there's no way to create a function without close buttons -- which is quite normal regarding W3C... Would you like amazon.com to be able to open a browser window you can't close? :-)
