This doesn't work.
It allows to add a child with some text, as in your example.
But it doesn't allow you to add a tree, ie a node with sub-nodes,
which is what I was looking for.
If it does, could you give an example where eg the item to add is
<book>
<author>Smith, J</author>
<title>PHP for dummies</title>
<publisher>OUP</publisher>
</book>
