You could get around this using the HTML meta tag in the index.html
page:

<head>
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; url=http://www.yourdomain.com/
x.php"/>
</head>
</html>
It's not a PHP trick, but it should work for you, even with
restrictions.
