[PHP] Is GD available

I have php 4.3.11 available, and when I do a phpinfo()
   http://209.204.172.137:81/testphp.php

I see it in the configuration, but it is not listed elsewhere.  How can 
I test to see if it is available?

gd_info() is not in 4.3.11 and extension_loaded('gd') gives a false.
