You may use these to functions to retrieve whatever you have in your parameters
It reads in a "search-word" which it tries to retireve out of the array.
Gives TRUE or FALSE back if parameters exists.

Well, you test them out. Use var_dump($array) to see the latter of the functions
output.

Good luck

function is_in_array( $inst, $array ) {
  // $inst refers to a part of a string or a complete one
  // like in_array it gives back bool if a value exists.
  // this also gives back bool if key exists
  $ret = 0;
  while ( list ( $key, $val ) = each ( $array ) ) {
    if ( $key == "$inst" ) {
      $ret = 1;
    }
    if ( $val == "$inst" ) {
      $ret = 1;
    }
  }
  return $ret;
}

function parse_arg( $argv, $argc ) {
  $array = Array();
  for ( $i = 0 ; $i < $argc ; $i++ ) {
    if ( ereg( "-", $argv[ $i ] ) ) {
      if ( ereg( "-", $argv[ $i + 1 ] ) ) {
        $array[ "$argv[$i]" ] = "";
      } else {
        $array[ "$argv[$i]" ] = $argv[ $i + 1 ];
        $i = $i + 1;
      }
    }
  }
  return $array;
}
