Greets, I've been able to open a remote URL, read it and then lop off everything except the last line and break it into an array with its' tabs - /t .
The data will then be inserted into a table.
However, the following URL shows reservoir storage and is a .doc file. I am unable to run the same script with this URL since it is a .doc file - not a .txt file.
The client has said that this is the only file that their office has and does not offer any csv or tsv .txt files.
Is there anyway to acheive formatting this data using the following file?
http://water.usgs.gov/orh/nrwww/odrm/storage2004.doc
Thank you. TR
Do you have a compatible version of Microsoft Excel? If so you can probably copy and paste the values into a spreadsheet and convert the spreadsheet into csv or tsv. If that's not an option for you then you *might* be able to try PEAR's OLE package... but that would be my last resort.
