I am looking for suggestions for a textbook for an undergraduate class introducing PHP and MySQL (using PHP, not MySQL administration). Right now I am using the McCarty book "PHP 4 A Beginner's Guide" but there might be new and/or better books out there?
The text is critical because these students will be taking a self-paced, independent learning course using the text, web site, in consultation with a distant faculty member... so it is a bit different than a text I would use in a face-to-face class... and these are true beginners!
