can somebody help me out with my scripts while running this:

..................................
$myfile = fopen("data.txt","w");
.........................................etc;
?>
i get the following error message:
Warning: fopen("compteur","w") - Permission denied in cmguestcount.inc.php3
on line 11
i'm using php3 and this scripts are for a counter of my page .
