% Is there a good way in PHP to determine page breaks

There isn't, really, because it up to the local browser and printer
settings.

% for long reports and printing? I'd like to be able to

You should probably make use of <tfoot> <thead> and <tbody> then.

% Anyone know of any good examples of this?

I believe that if you make a <div> you can avoid a page break or maybe
force one, though you then have to work at the screen/page size lowest
common denominator (not the more common "LCD" in the computer world ;-)

In short, this is purely an html and browser question. Good luck!
