By far, I have been totally satisfied with UltraEdit. Lightweight, just about any language you want to edit, user configurable syntax highlighting (for those into that), handles UNIX / DOS / Mac files easily, etc, etc. And best of all, buy a liscense (cheap) and you're supporting a programmer, and not a company.
