The syntax of the command itself looks fine.
I assume that there are actually directories three levels below
/var/spool/mail for it to find?
If it's succeeding on the commandline and not from PHP, I'd guess
it's probably a path problem, especially if you can run 'ls'. Try
giving the full path to 'find'.
