Bug description: fopen http wrapper crashes php

Description:
------------
Bug #34359

Interestingly, in php 4.4.1 on Win2000 with Apache 1.3.33 opening a url
with fopen worked fine. With 4.4.2 my system keeps crashing (PHP has
generated some errors and will be shut down).
