I can not reproduce this with PHP 4.3.0 (Apache DSO) and using the php.ini-recommended as php.ini. Does this only happen with PHP running as CGI? We just upgraded to 4.3.0RC3 (CGI version) and the problem still occurs. We're using the recommended php.ini file that came with 4.3.0RC3 source.
